Typically pain in the shoulders, knees, or wrists are coming from the spine since that is where their nerve supply comes from. This is especially likely if there was no injury to the specific joint, or in the case where the pain is in both appendages (both knees/etc). Occasionally those joints can need adjustments, and Dr. Gabe has trained in adjusting those joints as well. Dr. Gabe will motion and feel for signs of dysfunction in the surrounding joints and tissues to get to the root of the problem. A specific adjustment catered to each individual is delivered to correct any misalignments.
If the joint is injured in the sprain and knocked out of alignment, the healing will take a lot longer due to improper motion patterns. This makes it is extremely susceptible to re-injury. Adjustments to that sprain can restore proper positioning and aid in the healing process. If a joint is moving efficiently, there is a lot less stress on the surrounding tissues and a reduced risk of injury. Even old injuries can heal with the joint out of alignment and causes chronic pain or decreased flexibility.
The founder of medicine (Hippocrates) knew the importance of looking to the spine first when he made this quote, and so do we. Usually pain in the knees, shoulders, arms, and jaw is stemming from a spinal misalignment. The spine is always checked and corrected first, but if an extremity needs an adjustment that will be adjusted. No two people are the same, so what causes one person's shoulder pain may not be the cause of another's.
